Update On The Months I Missed

Since Jan life has been pretty busy for my family, life with three kids has been interesting to say the least. My boys finished up school and progressed on to the next grade and I managed to finish up the semester even though baby came unexpected. Khyia has recovered well, but has had quite the problems with her digestion that I think was caused from the pneumonia that she fought at birth. Which caused her tummy to be partially paralyzed, but the doctors aren't completely sure what caused it. Entering into solid baby food we have found life to be exceptionally interesting, because a very very small amount of food keeps her full which in turn doesn't allow her to gain much weight. At birth she weighed nearly 9 lbs but left the hospital at only 8 lbs and 6 oz. by the time she got to her first 2 month check up she weighed in at 8 lbs. Now nearly 7 months old she weighs only 13 lbs and hasn't put weight on since she was 4 months old. Upon doing some testing they learned that Khyia can only digest 30% of 4 oz of milk in about 90 minutes, so food is harder than liquid. The doctor wants me to put her on a medication that could potentially harm her more than help her so I am currently pursuing a second option for help. Her family doctor is missing the fact that food doesn't digest so because she is small and borderline off the growth chart, she expects me to force solid food on her because in her option she is a lazy eater, which is not the case. I currently breast feed and I know she gets everything she needs. I have spoken to an herbalist here in town and have found something to help keep the reflux part of the problem in check. Every day is quite the challenge and I do my best to make time for blogging but it's not easy. I will try to keep up with posting new things I can pass along and please feel free to write me if you have questions. My family is doing well and  I hope to share more with you all soon! Have a blessed week!!!

A Spell For My Baby

November 9th 2012 My daughter was born. Her name, Khyia Leeanne Bell, weighed in at 8 lbs and 15oz
Her birth was smooth but her start to life was difficult. Pneumonia and difficulty breathing set the stage for the fight of her life.
Once the infection cleared she couldn't keep her O2 up, so I made her a trinket and spoke her a spell.
Hung close to her lungs for a week it did take,
through casting the spell did I make,
with love and dedication for her sake.

13 days later my baby come home from the hospital as healthy as could be.

I want to share the spell that I wrote for those of you looking to write one for your needs, as an example of how a spell might look like.

"May the Goddess bless these trinkets made to heal,
Provided strength and recovery she can feel,
Protect her from hardships within the world,
Thank you for looking over my little girl,
Heal her lungs and let them function,
So she can strive bright like a button,
Support her tiny body to recover fast,
So we may bring her home at last,
Paridot, bloodstone, amber, come together,
And mend her struggling body altogether,
Make her sickness disappear,
So going home becomes crystal clear!"
